Parents/caregivers will learn massage techniques to enhance their baby’s development and promote well-being. For babies, research shows measurable improvements in weight gain, decreased fussiness, improved sleep patterns, decreased anxiety and improved motor behavior/muscle tone. The benefits for parents/caregivers include improved relaxation, reduced stress, increased confidence by enhancing baby’s health and development, quality bonding time, and increased awareness of baby’s physical condition. A calmer, happier baby = a calmer, happier family! Instruction is modeled on a life-sized baby doll and parents will practice on their baby. Class is limited to 4 infants and 8 parents/caregivers.
Infants brought to class must be 2 weeks to 6 months of age.
Introduction to Webpage Design

Learn how to create a webpage to meet your needs, be it a personal, professional, or business website. Students will learn what makes a webpage effective, customize their own webpage, how to add pages to their webpage, maintain their webpage, link and upload videos, as well as create either a schedule or business inventory page. Students will also learn how to link social media to their webpage as well learn how to provide webpage services. We will be using the free web development platform Wix. Students may bring their own computers to class or use ours.

Geared toward the novice iPad user, in this class you will learn how to operate an iPad and use select apps such as mail and the camera app. The camera will allow you to take, edit, and share photos and videos. Along the way, you'll learn some key vocabulary and how to find your way around the iPad. Students will need to bring their own iPads.
Let's Get Fit and Stay Fit (Session 2)

This low impact workout allows you to work at your own pace and level. It is 50-60 minutes of just moving, adding some light weights (or not), using stretch tubing for resistance training and incorporating an abdominal workout and flexibility stretches. Anyone can do this. Class meets two times a week and includes holidays and school vacations. All levels welcome. Please bring a floor mat and 1-5 lb. weights. No senior discount. Drop-ins welcome @ $5/class.

Maine Driving Dynamics

Maine Driving Dynamics is a Bureau of Highway Safety course aimed at improving a student's defensive driving awareness and abilities. The five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that challenge drivers on Maine's highways. The course format engages participants with lectures, videos, and class discussion/participation. Upon completion, students receive a three-point credit on their driving record. Some insurance companies give discounts after completing this course. Check with your company for details. Students should bring their driver's license to class. Registration: $40.00 under age 65; $25 age 65 and older. Seniors should call our office to register to receive the discounted price. 422-4794.

Pysanky: Eggs to Dye For

Decorate eggs with the traditional Ukrainian method (Pysanky) of using beeswax and dye (aka the batik method). Patterns are drawn on the egg with hot beeswax, which then protects the covered areas from the dye that is applied. By repeating this process with different colors of dye, a multi-colored pattern is built up. Finally, the wax is removed to reveal the colors that were covered up at each stage.

Prepare yourself for deep relaxation. Restorative Yoga works to heal your body emotionally and physically. In Restorative Yoga "support = release" of muscle tension & mental stress, giving your body the opportunity to restore and refresh. Class is about slowly breathing into reclining yoga postures supported by bolsters, blocks, blankets and pillows. Your instructor will provide you with most of the props and guide you into setting up for each posture, assisting as needed to get that "ahhhhhhhh" comfort & relaxation. Participants will need to wear comfortable clothing; bring 2 throw pillows & a throw/blanket; eye pillows are available and may be purchased for $5. Relax...refresh...restore.
