Yoga for Fun and YOU! (Wednesday Session 3)

Learn to listen to your body for what it wants and needs. Using Kripalu Yoga techniques, learn your own version of postures with modifications as needed. Yoga helps with stress relief; better breathing; increase in strength and flexibility; improved circulation; cardiovascular conditioning; inner peace and more. (All classes will be designed to meet the needs of Beginning yogis and Advanced Beginners practicing yoga). Drop ins welcome @ $10/class. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Fly Fishing: Basic Fly Casting

The goal of this course is to provide students with the casting skills necessary to fish effectively on your own. This is a hands-on course, so your time will be spent with a fly rod in hand, working on your own casting. Most instruction will be done in small groups, but casting suggestions will also be offered on an individual basis. Videotape analysis of your casting stroke will be provided. Students are encouraged to use their own fly rod and reel, but equipment will be available for anyone who needs it. Please do not buy new equipment just to take this course. This course will be taught in Orono by Kevin Tracewski, a certified fly casting instructor and author of the best selling book,  A Fisherman's Guide to Maine.

*Please bring a bag lunch/snack and something to drink.

Let's Get Fit and Stay Fit (Session 3)

Calendar Apr 27, 2020 at 9 am, runs for 7 weeks

This low-impact workout allows you to work at your own pace and level. It is 50-60 minutes of simple moving, with options to add some light weights (or not), use stretch tubing for resistance training and incorporate an abdominal workout and flexibility stretches. Anyone can do this. Class meets two times a week and includes holidays and school vacations. All levels welcome.

*Please bring a floor mat and 1-5 lb. weights. Drop-ins welcome @ $5/class.

Computers for Seniors: Managing Your Files, Documents, and Photos

We are excited to offer a computer class for seniors who know computer basics, but want to learn more. This class will cover naming, saving, moving, organizing, sending and receiving files, documents, and photos. Students will get repetitive practice with the goal of creating a system of their own. The class will be offered in a small group setting to allow for personal attention.

Restorative Yoga (Session 5)

Ready for deep relaxation? Restorative Yoga works to heal your body emotionally and physically. In Restorative Yoga "support = release" of muscle tension & mental stress, giving your body the opportunity to restore and refresh. Slowly breathe into reclining yoga postures supported by bolsters, blocks, blankets and pillows (most provided) while your instructor guides you into setting up for each posture, assisting as needed to get that "ahhhhhhhh" comfort & relaxation. Participants should wear comfortable clothing; bring 2 throw pillows & a throw/blanket; eye pillows are available and may be purchased for $5.

Ear Acupressure Point: An Introduction

Locating this area of the ear, the Shen Men acupressure point, can result in a feeling of relief and a lessening of tension and anxiety. It may also help relieve physical symptoms, such as headaches and sleep problems. Ear acupressure is one tool you can keep in your self care tool bag. Ear acupressure (also called "auricular therapy" or simply "ear treatments") is virtually free and can help you stay healthy. Jean volunteers her time for the non-profit organization, The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, www.acudetox.com.
