Addiction and Recovery: What You Can Do and What You Need to Know Session 2

Here is a seminar that will assist community members, family members, health care professionals, and educators to better understand various aspects of addiction and recovery. Explore the complex issues of addiction, such as: contributing factors (i.e., trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences- ACE's, poverty, genetics); resiliency and hope; suffering, fears, shame, pain and loss of family and friends; intervention and treatment; and recovery and relapse. The journey! Resources and approaches for assistance and support will be shared during discussions. Your instructor is an RN, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Life Coach and has worked in the addiction recovery field as for over 20 years. She is eager to share knowledge, experience, and hope and decrease stigma, pain, shame and loss. No class 2/21/18.
