Bob Ross Oil® Painting: Secluded Forest

Secluded Forest is from Joy of Painting season 6 episode 5. We will explore the magic of the deep forest where Bob's favorite little creatures love to hide. We will discover how easy it is to make reflections in the forest ponds. Genuine Bob Ross ® materials provided and used. Students are asked to bring a roll of paper towels for personal use.
Scam-Proof Your Accounts

Participants will learn about common financial frauds including check washing and check fraud. Also coveredare critical components of keeping accounts secure including password management and freezing one’s credit.
Botanical Drawing

Learn how to depict plants through detailed observation and artistic techniques. Focusing on precision and botanical anatomy, the class covers sketching, shading, and color theory to create lifelike representations of flowers, leaves, and stems. Suitable for all skill levels, the course blends art with science, helping students develop a deeper appreciation for nature while honing their drawing abilities.
Students should bring their own 9x12 or 11x14 paper/sketchbook, #2 pencils, ruler, and eraser plus a $4 materials fee payable to the instructor.
Needle Felting: Fat Birds

Create an adorable, chubby bird sculpture using wool and a felting needle. This fun, hands-on workshop will guide you through shaping and sculpting techniques to bring your plump feathered friend to life and make you smile! No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity!
Basket Weaving: Fiddlehead

If you are hiking in the forest or wandering in your garden, this will be a nice basket for fiddleheads, mushrooms, or herbs. Size is approximately 4” Width x 8" Height x 10" Length.
Natural Dyeing: Reds

Winter is a time to be warm. No blues or greens. Reds! Maybe some yellow.
We will be dyeing reds in this class. Madder, cochineal, lac, and Brazil wood. I will provide all materials. If you want to bring your own natural fiber, it must be mordanted with alum.
Students should wear old clothes (or an apron) and bring:
- Notebook, pen or pencil
- Indelible sharpie
- Fiber, natural, up to one pound
- Rubber gloves - dishwashing type
- Plastic 3-5 gal pail
- Medium size cooking pot, around a gallon, if you want your own personal dye bath.
- Small laundry bags to hold loose fiber if you are bringing some
- Plastic bags for wet fiber
- Lunch and something to drink. Lunch will be question time.
Adult Education has a refrigerator and microwave for us to use.
